How to file a reply suo moto cancellation notice in GST?

To file a reply to the GST cancellation notice, you need to perform the following steps on the GST portal-

Step 1: Visit the common portal and enter login credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the Services > Registration > Application for filing clarifications.

Step 3: Enter the reference number given on relevant notice in the "Reference No. of Notice" field and click on the "SEARCH" button.

Step 4: Now the form is appearing on your screen for filing a response. Fill in the following details in this form-

  • In the "Query Response" field, enter your response.
  • In the "Additional Information" field, enter any additional information supporting the submission of your clarification application.
  • Click the "Choose File" button to upload any supporting document. Note, file with JPEG or PDF format is only allowed, and the maximum file size for upload is 1 MB.
  • Check the Verification box to declare that information given by you is true and correct to the best of your knowledge.
  • Select the Name of Authorized Signatory from the drop-down list.
  • Enter the place in the "Place" filed from where an application is being filed

Note: this form can be saved at any point of time within the period of a maximum of 7 working days from the generation of the notice for seeking clarifications by the Tax Official. Now, submit the application using "SUBMIT WITH DSC" or "SUBMIT WITH EVC". (a) In case of SUBMIT WITH DSC:

  • Click the "SUBMIT WITH DSC" button.
  • Click the "PROCEED" button.
  • Select the certificate and click the "SIGN" button.

(b) In case of SUBMIT WITH EVC:

  • Click the "SUBMIT WITH EVC" button.
  • Enter the OTP received on the email and mobile number of the authorized signatory registered at the GST Portal.
  • Click the "VALIDATE OTP" button.

A success message will be displayed on your screen. Intimation of submission of the application for cancellation of GST registration will be sent via SMS to the applicant on the registered mobile number.
