How to login into the TRACES?

TRACES (TDS Reconciliation Analysis and Correction Enabling System) is an integrated platform for providing various services to TDS deductors. TRACES enables deductors / collectors to view status of challans and TDS-TCS credit for a PAN. They can also download Conso File, Form 16 / 16A and Justification Report after logging in to their account on TRACES.

Steps to login into the TRACES

Step 1: Go to the TRACES website by clicking on this link: http://contents.tdscpc.gov.in/en/home.html. Click the "Continue" button appearing on Pop up screen.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘Login‘ link at the top of the left navigation bar.

Step 3: On the Login page, enter valid login credentials i.e Username, Password, TAN of deductor and click on the "Login" button.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Deductor should clear the cache memory. Further, check the browser. If you are using Internet Explorer version 8 or 9 and issue still persists, try to open the portal in Google Chrome version 23 and above or Mozilla Firefox version 17 & above.

  • Account gets disabled if deductor first uses forgot user ID option and before activating the account, deductor uses forgot password.
  • Deductor should wait for 48 hours and after that again use forgot user ID option, activate the account and then login.
  • If you have entered incorrect login details for five consecutive times within 24 hours, your account would be locked out. Wait for one hour for account to unlock and try logging again.

  1. If the sub-user have not logged into TRACES for two consecutive quarters in a financial year, his account would have been deleted or disabled. In that case, the sub-user needs to contact the Admin User for adding him again as a sub-user
  2. If the sub-user entered incorrect login details five consecutive times within 24 hours, his account would be locked out for one hour.
